Yes it did go well. I had a great view of its transom for the entire course. My borrowed inflatable with an LLS could only just about keep up.

I have removed (and replaced) a couple of pinion bushes on my direct drive century and a featherweight in the past simply by baking them in the kitchen oven. Dissolving caustic soda is exothermic (releases heat). Adding CS to water allows you to control the rate of heating to prevent boiling and spitting of a highly corrosive vapour & liquid.
