Re: Bayonet flat cap

There are plenty of these blank caps around, most classic British bike parts suppliers have stock of them they list at approx £22-24 or thereabouts.

Re: Marston adverts

This is what the junction of Alma Road and Whiteladies Road looks like now. I wonder where the shop was?

Re: Marston adverts

The exhaust vent was there to aid starting, by reducing back pressure. The feature was removed from later seagulls of course.

I see there is an Anzani Pilot cyclinder on Ebay at the moment, if anybody is after one? Global postage too.

Re: SD Tank

Yes, they are usually available on eBay from classic motorcycle dealers. My 1966 Triumph has one on the oil tank, the petrol tank is larger. The modern ones are steel, the originals were chromed brass. I’m working abroad so cannot supply a drawing I’m afraid, unless somebody else can, Charles or H-A...

Re: SD Tank

Bayonet fuel caps can be made. New caps from the original supplier are available, and the valve can be made by a competent Turner with a small lathe. I made a small batch a few years ago. I made several fully working valves, and also dummy valves, where the cap breathed through a small hole in the d...

Re: Bought Another One

Certainly not seagull taps. Dont forget that many parts from things such as lawnmowers, motorcycles and even cars used similar sized fittings.

Re: EBAY

I agree with H-A. I share things I’ve spotted occasionally, and recently I bought something because I’d spotted it, and it’s now going to somebody I know off the forum who will be very happy to have it. It’s also good to discuss certain postings good or bad. I’m not suggesting we dissect everything,...
