Jan, I had one in the sixties, when I were but a lad.....no idea what happened to it, so I am not going to be much help there! I remember watching the choke mechanism fly into the canal when I unscrewed it too far. Very embarrassing. Where in Zanstaad are you? I am in Zandaam from the 17th for a few...

Is that a DEAD Seagull....it's tiller is hanging down and the prop looks a little off....what killed it? Nice coffin though....a bit of red silk and you are in.

I would have thought the best thing would be to acquire a genuine Mariner one and see what they make it from. If in doubt go softer. The point is, it should break before the prop or the gearbox .Less shear resistant than the prop. Start too soft.

I had a Transit with lpg from the factory as a car transporter...good piece of kit till it caught fire at 80 on the m11

The green lobby always seem to miss the point that a 60 year old landrover doing 15 to the gallon will pollute kess than a new car doing 65 mpg.....the biggest pollution is when you build them...it takes around 200 tons of water (I could be wrong, but it will be more not less) to make a ton of steel...

I took a boat oop there from Ijmuiden last september. No seagulls involved, it had a pair of mwm v6 motors. Bit of a bumpy passage.
