Re: Height adjusting collar

Did you get one? If not there is one here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-SEAGULL-HEIGHT-ADJUSTER/183998253778?hash=item2ad7268ad2:g:GSYAAOSw0XldPJ4h Another way is to use a jubilee clip fitted around the driveshaft tube, however this can scratch the chrome if you are not careful! :P Oyster 49,...

Height adjusting collar

Morning Gentlemen, I have a WSPCL 1973 Silver Century Plus Long-shaft 5hp British Seagull. I would like to put it on a 14ft Aluminum boat to putter around. Does John sell height adjustment collars? I was wanting to adjust the depth of the motor to make for a more efficient and smoother ride. Also, c...

Re: 1963 LLS Century model 100 powerhead woes

The cheapest fix would be to take it into your local engineering workshop with the broken off bit & ask them to turn up a threaded inlet stub & ask them to drill & tap the cylinder to suit, almost invisible. Charles UK, what an excellent idea! Before you responded, I was contemplating b...

1963 LLS Century model 100 powerhead woes

Gentleman, it has been a while since I have posted, but I do like to come and visit and read the on goings. Well, to my dilemma. I purchased a 1963 Seagull LSS model 100 4hp motor. Needless to say, the UPS postal service decided it was going to try and destroy another old dear. The tank was damage ...

Gentlemen, thanks for your responses and insight. Sorry, I have not responded sooner, but work and family have kept me pretty busy lately. I will look at the high tension lead and the cap on that wire. If, my cdi power pack is out who can I contact to find out pricing and shipping?? Again, thank you...

Spark issues with a 1981 British Seagull EFNR 110

Gents, I just acquired a 1981 British Seagull EFNR 110 motor. 8) Initially, I had spark but now no spark. I know this motor has a CDI type of ignition and if the spark goes you just change the cdi module. Before I purchase a new cdi module, I have a couple of additional questions. - is there any saf...

Re: Thank very much Phil!! I got the motor!!

Well I'm glad you were able to get this motor, David. It would be interesting to see some close up photos of the refill tank, especially the Seagull markings. Phil, This how I received the tank. http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx19/photocajun/British%20Seagull%20model%20110/EACECA67-58C5-452B-94...

Re: Thank very much Phil!! I got the motor!!

Jon, No, I have not got it running yet. Just put it in the garage today. It has a CDI ignition and it easily gets a spark at 1/4 inch with a open spark gap checker. I need to empty and clean the fuel tank, it has some old fuel mix in there. The owner said everything was original except the fuel hose...

Re: Hot Seagull...

Mercurys run hotter as they have a thermostat, Seagull's don't have that luxury. Wasn't this motor stopping because it was too hot? Can owners tell us how hot their crankcases are running, so that we can arrive at an average range. Running a 1964 40 plus in barrel. After running 5min. Temp of the c...

Re: Is my seagull overheating??

Yes Sir, 10:1 is in that tank and I will never lean it out. My understanding it needs to 10:1 for lubrication, keeping it cooler and also to help seal the crankcase.

1650bullet, phil , Vic, thanks guys you are starting to make me feel easier about running the old dear!!
