Re: SD 685P3

Sounds like a great purchase, made all the more special with all those parts.

Look forward to seeing some pics when you're ready.

Re: 1926 Elto Ruddertiwn

I managed to clean it up, un-lock the engine and remove the Johnson flywheel/magneto over the weekend. It's starting to look a bit more respectable!

Will start chasing parts the US. Some of the guys on the AOMCI Forums and Facebook group can be very helpful.

1926 Elto Ruddertiwn

Here's a few pics of my most recent purchase, believed to be a 1926 Model G Elto Ruddertwin. Engine and leg remain in a fixed position. Steering wheel (or similar) is used to move the rudder port or starboard as required. Quite interesting. It has a few issues and needs quite a few parts to correct ...

With the exception of the tankless unit, they all seem to be from the same period. All appear to have the double transom clamp assembly placing them amongst the most recent models.

Re: Australian Auction

Hey John, as said earlier, I had friends there including one bidding on my behalf. I was interested in both the ATCO Boatimpeller and the SIMPLEX. The hammer wend down on the ATCO at $200, plus on costs of course. They often appear on eBay and Gumtree for between $100 and $150 so I passed. The SIMPL...

S I started to measure the ring gap............and stopped! I have of course handled the rings and with another observation re ring locating pin.....I need to do the testing from a different perspective. It is what it is but the reason why exactly could be rather ........thinking out of the square....
