Saving Old Seagulls

Looks like Amsterdam might be the place to go to pick up some cheap 2 stroke engines. It is fast coming to the stage where the only place you will be able to use a 2 stroke is a barrel in your back garden. Wait until the E.U. pass a law banning all 2 stroke engines, including boat engines, lawn mowe...

The seller is also selling a Donkey and a Gelding for € 200. Says it all really !

Might be cheaper to buy an engine on E Bay or whatever and sell my one for parts !

I had thought of buying a "new" gearbox, but with the pinion damaged, I think I will still have the same problem !

I am hoping it won't need a new gear box. The pinion is on the end of the drive shaft.

Decided to have another go at this gear box. looking at the diagram I see that I need a new bevel pinion. There is at least two teeth broken on my one.
Any idea where I might get one ?

Are you buying or selling ?

Has the thread on the NGK A6 spark plug changed ? I bought one a couple of weeks ago and the thread on the head didn't suit it.

Just wndering if anyone has an efnr gearbox for a Silver Century 110. Also looking for a drive gear from the end of the main drive .

Thanks, I saw that, but the postage they want to post it to Ireland is 70 euro, the box its self is 50 euro, postage rip off !

O.K. I tried everything and couldn't get it to work .properly. So gave up and brought it to a mechanic mate who stripped it down and discovered a tooth broken on the end of the drive shaft cog. He put it back together but it still won't go into forward gear. So am now in the market for a new gearbox...

I think my problem is, I am more used to the modern outboards. Still trying to get used to getting back to basics.

I have a recondititioned villiers, and was just wonderng if the engine would benefit from a new carb.That said it looks like the the old carb has a bigger outlet ( the bit that goes on to the block), so I thinkthat answers that . Thanks
