Re: Repairing stripped Amal carb threads
Sorry slight exaggeration just went out to the shed and had a look, there are enough inserts to repair 12 carbs. If your going to search for it on ebay the brand is Zuess Industrial Tools - Thread repair kit

Re: Repairing stripped Amal carb threads
Hi I had the same problem recently. To find helicoils in the same thread pattern is like finding rocking horse shit - impossible. I bought a 16x2 metric helicoil kit and a metric banjo the same size (had to trim the length of the metric banjo to stay clear of the jets and the Loctite insert as well ...

Re: Will this 102 run OK?
Hi, after some research it appears (through visual images on the internet) the Amal single jet carb in question on the AD 102 is a #316 (thanks Keith P) and it is originally from a (BSA Bantam D1) motorbike manufactured from 1948. The BSA Bantam D1 was a 125 cc bike with a power rating of 4.5 bhp or...

Re: Will this 102 run OK?
Hi there are no numbers imprinted on the carb body at all. The twin jet villiers I have has the id stamped behind the collar that attaches to the block but not on the Amal anywhere. The carb slide has a diameter of 19 mm. Length at highest point 23 mm lowest point (angle) 14.3mm. Hope you have been ...

Hi all I have an issue with removing the pinion from my AD 102 gearbox  . I have tried repeatedly with lots of heat constant pressure and impact force but it will not budge even a little bit. I must let you know first I only have basic backyard shed tools to use (vice, clamp, butane blowtorch ...

This is a photo of the gearbox when I first pulled if apart when I got the motor in September lots of rubbish inside it then. I'd appreciate it if you have a look at what you've got and maybe fin...
