If this was the case i would say it would kind of turn the prop. Sounds like a gearbox problem.

The conrods go in these making them scrap, i have a 160 inboard (same powerhead) that has a worn conrod. If they are ran with wear in the big end then the conrods are prone to shattering. Charles can tell you more on this if he wants. Worth a shot for the right price though. I have a gearbox here if...

Yep Chas, they look good on display motors but are no good on motors that get used.

Pop off the rings and clean out the slots in the piston, there may be some grip stopping the rings from fully compressing.

Take a look at the updated listing, he has added some info in the description, interesting if its true but hard to believe. My thinking is that it is the seal that goes at the top of the pinion in the gearbox on later models, maybe the way he states he found it is the way seagull kept such seals!???...

He told me run a grinder round the shaft to make a 1-2mm slot, he says this wont weaken it :lol:
