Mark,

Once Charles posted his message it was like that outboard had the plague. The parts are worth £100 so don't feel bad.

The 400 series all have the same basic layout. see link below.

Can we see a picture? Which decal did you put on the steel tank? It's a different decal from the ones that go one the brass tanks isn't it?

If these lugs are gone you'll have to replace the whole piece. You don't want that slipping off in deep water.

Charles, my EFNR is post 1978 and has the original black steel tank and amal 416 carb. I use 16:1 but were they sold to be 10:1 or 25:1?

Connecting Rods and Cranks

I've noticed several different connecting rods marked Seagull I, Seagull 2 etc. What are the differences between them and are they all interchangeable? Also is the roller crankshaft destined to fail? Or should it be fine as long as a 25:1 mixture is used? Are there any advantages to using the roller...

Thanks Charles. That post should be added to the 5R page on the SOS website.

Were all Kingfishers the same? What were the main differences between the black generation and the silver ones sold as Seagull 6?

Thanks,

Greg
