Hi Pat, this must be the one you liked..... http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv137/NikonFM3/Gulls.jpg or this one maybe... http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv137/NikonFM3/AvonGulls.jpg I spend ages training these birds you know....., their toilet manners are however disgraceful. The Longliner li...

Re: Two motors or One?

Don't forget the 10-1 fuel--oil ratio. I would go for a F N R as well for something that big R is made redundant by efficient boat handling, surely. Exactly Catigull, it would also confuse the passengers if the vessel started going astern, they would all be facing the wrong way, some of em might be...

Re: British Seagull Outboards (Photographs)

Making the most of the nice weather - used the 40+ for a run ashore while on the hook at Lantic Bay, lovely! http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv137/NikonFM3/Photo28_28A_zps82c5d782.jpg The 40+ is a great choice on the Tinker Tramp. Gets it on the plane with one up - the 40 Featherweight doesn't ha...

Re: 5R

A fascinating post - thanks Charles for all the work. I never had a 5 but I did have QB Kingfisher. Potentially a great engine, it just did not have enough testing and development invested in it. It has long gone but the old Century 100 that I had at the same time is still a keeper.

Re: Two motors or One?

Two engines definitely the way to go for reliability but I would recommend just one longshaft centrally mounted with the other engine being a short shaft mounted slightly off the centre line on a swing down bracket. The fact is that you would not need to run both engines at the same time - ample thr...

Blowing a bit of a gale again but there were some nice breaks in the bad weather http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv137/NikonFM3/GolantQuay_zps2921e1eb.jpg and managed to get some of the flock warmed up.... http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv137/NikonFM3/Flockfleet_zps3b9c07fb.jpg Robin

Both my boats out on the river survived all the storms without incident. Re: Lerryn Seagull Race 2013

http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv137/NikonFM3/Whacky_zps8f666dd1.jpg Some brilliant marine engineering on display, as well as the Seagulls of course. This one was powered by a 170 which did well. We had a stately cruise around in the Longliner, the Silver Century Plus certainly did not disgrace...
