Re: Marston 340cc Twin

By all means pass on my details. There are around 10 Known Marstons in the US & I've only ever had 1 email from an owner telling me he'd sold his & that he'd passed our details on to the new custodian, but other than that one they just seem to disappear into a black hole. I'd really like the serial ...

Pete look inside the tank at how that thread is fastened there, then you will understand the difficulties your facing!

Re: 40FW Fuel tank stud needed

Pete, shine a light inside the tank so you can see how your tank is constructed, the thread is 5/16 BSF.

There are several different tanks used on Seagulls it would help if we knew the model (serial number)?

Re: convert my 102 to run on a cd ignition

Good point Chris, but using a Seagull in a situation where a pair of oars would not be suitable to save the day, might be considered to be irresponsible!

Re: Marston 340cc Twin

I'm currently trying to compile a complete list of pictures of all the Marston models, showing all the necessary details. As you'll understand no one wants a picture of their pride & joy, displayed to the world with several obvious jobs still left to do. I've probably seen & have pics of more than 9...

Re: Marston 340cc Twin

No it's not the same engine, though it's the same model, OB with a clutch.

Did anyone ask the owner if it was OK to use his picture on here?

We need to see a picture of the prop (plan view) & the lower unit to ensure you have the right combination.

Re: No drive.. :-(

Before you take anything to bits, remove the spark plug, engage in gear & poke a screw driver through the top front water inlet hole inlet until you can touch the pinion shaft or the drive shaft & rotate the propeller, can you feel any movement? Movement here would imply rusted out drive shaft, not ...

Re: BMB Britannia coil fix?

I think that the Mk1 BMB had a two bladed prop with a cooling water scoop & Lucas ignition that fires the spark down one HT lead through the first spark plug the across the motor via the cylinders & crankcase the up through the second plug up the HT lead & back to the coil. The Mk 2 BMB had the Vill...
