Re: BMB Britannia coil fix?

Bruce wasn't the MK1 coil the funny one spark coil, that a single spark went down one plug & up the other?

Re: New Baby

You should have asked Rene, We had some Birmabright mixed so remanufactured parts are the same colour, not cheap, but we're all a bit anal!

Quite a few people have said that about me!

Re: Long distance Seagull trip.

42 miles around the island of Bermuda.

I'm not sure how far the Waikato race is, 80 something miles.

Search for the trip on the Murry the Aussies did.

Re: Plug gap

Undo the 1/4" BSF bolts below the baseplate, these should release the flywheel cover & with luck you should be able to lift it enough to see the bottom 1/2" of the flywheel rim & be able to see a shallow groove 3/8" above the bottom of the flywheel base, if the groove is present you've got a Mk 4 Wy...

Re: Plug gap

Sorry getting you mixed up with another Seagull can't say anything about yours, as we don't have the engine number.

Re: Plug gap

Yours is a factory rebuild & that doesn't tell us which ignition they fitted.

Remove flywheel cover & inspect flywheel rim,

no groove white CDI

groove black CDI

Run at 25 thou until your sure, as the black CDI struggles at 35 thou, & replacements are expensive!

Re: Plug gap

Well the White CDI is 35 thou & the Black 25.

I run both at 25 thou & haven't had a problem yet.

Re: Plug gap

It's dependent on which type of ignition you have fitted to your model 90, black or white CDI.

A picture of the flywheel rim will tell us.

Re: Curlew

Depends whether you want it as an ornament or as an outboard motor?

It drives the same prop / lower unit combination as a silver century model 75 at a 1000+ rpm faster, uses less fuel & makes less noise, & has about 30% more oomph!

That's a very big increase for just a hone, new rings & an early head or did you skim the top off the cylinder?

Re: TC 102 water cooling problem

Can someone post a picture of the telltale block on the side of an 102 exhaust tube so Red can see where all 102's feed water back into the exhaust, perhaps a previous owner has used a silver century exhaust as a repair. Without doing as I suggested you won't be able to see if the water delivery tub...
