Re: Forty Minus engine number??
Hello, Thank You for your help, I try to keep a record and when the numbers don't make sense it's difficult to know exactly what you have, the more I work on these engines the more quirks there seem to be, part of the fun eh! Great forum, helpful members, seagull ownership would not be the same with...

Forty Minus engine number??
Hello All, I have just picked up a forty minus but I don't really understand the engine number, so I don't know year of manufacture,
The engine number is; SJM 195 R9
I guess it's been refurbished at some time but am not sure what the R9 mean?
Many Thanks, Rene

Re: Anyone Got a 102 Block?
This old 102 used to belong to my father so I would like to do it up, as you know, as far as rebuilding these, it's not really expensive, seagulls are so cheap to own, restore and use, Great, the cheapest hobby I have ever had. I have several spare engines and bits, no 102's though, would the 102 cr...

Anyone Got a 102 Block?
Hello All,
If anybody has one spare, I am after a 102 (round) block in usable condition, I'll pay good money for one.
Many Thanks, Rene

How Many Shaft Lengths Are There?
Hello all, I took this pic of a few seagulls I have hanging up, I noticed that the silver centuries in the middle have three different shaft lengths, the exhaust tubes I measured were 16", 20" and 22". The seagull on the far right is a 40+ standard (short) shaft not a 40- which I know...

Block Corrosion!!
This came off an old silver century, square block, it was still running until I dropped it and snapped the carb off.
I think it might have had a problem with cooling though.
Is the seawater here really salty or something!!

Re: Ewarts Fuel Tap filter
Well I bought some brass mesh from ebay, 100 wires per inch, about right I think, I'll just have to wait and see when it arrives.

Re: Ewarts Fuel Tap filter
It just seems a shame to discard a good fuel tap due to not being able to replace the filter, I might scan the net and see if I can find some fine brass gauze and with a bit of soldering, try to make some up.

Ewarts Fuel Tap filter
Hello all,
Does anyone know if it's possible to buy new gauze filters for the Ewarts fuel taps, I know you can fit an inline filter but I'd rather use the standard tap/filter setup as well as the original fuel hose.
Many Thanks for any ideas,
Rene.
