Re: Main Site Issues - gratuitously handsome 40+

Hi John,
Sorry you have had big problems with the web site. To help you get over the unpleasantness I attach herewith a photo of a handsome 40+ on a smart little dingy.
Nautical therapy.

Apologies for repaeating an oldie - Yacht club newbie overheard to ask old sea dog which was better material for the yacht club tie - polyester or silk?
Reply ..... "Silk better for holding up the trousers but polyester tie better for starting the Seagull"..... :)

May I advise that you chaps definitely need to get some sea time in or other fresh air pursuit - such a fervour of interest in the semi spehircal shapedness or not of the starting cord bobble -what trivia to clutter up valuable e space with. Why in my case I have no time for such a silly distraction...

A boat is just a boat - drill away! The Seagull is a living pulsating creature which needs to be nurtured, fed and well perched. I have seen two G claps and a block used to perch a Forty Plus on but again I think the weight of a biggy deserves getting the drill out. The splash and squawk of a Gull l...

Engine well Dunn.

I have left the wee pet on the boat in the Portrush having sailed there from home port - Chichester. Might slip in a mug shot sometime. I first used the Gull in N.I. some 36 years ago - I have a photo of me and the bird then. One of us remains today handsome as ever, in fine condition with good perf...

Engine Dunn.

Endorsement for Simon Dunn - ("Engines Dunn" ) as advertised by John on the main site.

I left a cherished but very poorly Featherweight in to Simon and he has restored it to better than new flying fettle. A fine engineer and Gull vet.

I have the Seagull collar on a 40 Plus and it is great for that. Not suitable for anything heavier in my opinion however and that is actually stated in the original "Makers Methods" leaflet. The collar is just two halves of a nylon type bush with through bolts and I don't think it would su...

Hi. With apoligies for the delay in responding to this request - I bought a weedless prop for my Forty Featherweight many years ago and have found it to be far superior to the original Hydrofan type prop. The old prop used to collect every bit of weed in the sea and I was regularly having to stop to...

Regarding 31" or 34" - on a technical point.....perhaps one of you has used the depth adjusting collar to reduce your leg length.....? :D

http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv137/NikonFM3/Gulls-1.jpg Have been a Gull fancier since my dad bought me my first in 1973 and have always have one or two onboard my various boats. "Pleiades" is a Tradewind 35 so rather too large for a Seagull. I use a Forty + or minus on my Avon or T...

Gosh that must be one heck of a wheely bin. Will you be able to get across on just one tankfull? At least the forecast is good and you won't have to worry about tides. I trust of course that you have filed a passage plan. Bon voyage. :D Robin (Featherweight fancier but recently was lead astray by a ...

The advertising for the Silver Century Plus always used to state - "not suitable for light dingies and inflatables." As if to illustrate why I tried a short shaft Centuty 100 on my Avon Redcrest - similar to the Redstart. I have used a Forty Featherweight with this dingy for many years - a...
