Re: Forty series is this a Wipac 2 fault?

Well done there would have be quite a cheer when it fired. The Hillman in the background of some of your photos reminds me of an interesting blog I came across 4 or 5 years ago, is that you? Hugz coils are half a century old now. Can picture you riding an old BSA Bantam smoke cloud drifting behind :...

Re: Forty series is this a Wipac 2 fault?

You have checked the secondary windings but in the Wipac MkII the condenser is built into the coil I have had one fail. Easiest way to check is to change the Wipac baseplate assembly with one off your good motors, even the Villers complete unit will fit. If it fires up then replace the coil. This is...

Re: Forty series is this a Wipac 2 fault?

Wow what a headache, its happened to many of us there is usually a reason. After checking your posts looks like you have tried almost everything. Compression ; As the power head has compression and you have not pulled it apart I would think it would be ok unless this motor had an issue before it cam...

Re: SD grease pump.

Looks like the pump that was in nearly every motorcycle tool kit, girder forks need regular greasing.
Have seen two types one has holes on the top, I often see them at swap meets.

Re: Vessel befitting a Seagull at last.

It will flex they all do unless it is a full epoxy build, forget the additives go to a paint manufacturer and ask I went to Protec and Seahorse Marine Paints also ask a Shipwright what they would do (will probably say its scrap). Looking at the photos the poor thing has lost its shape, years on a tr...

Re: Vessel befitting a Seagull at last.

Good to see you are still plugging on. I could not work without my 18v drills, jigsaw and swapmeet B&D circular saw. Two pack paint is very tough but I wouldn't use it on your dinghy as it will flex (nail & roves) cracking paint at the seams. I should be telling you to use a Marine Enamel or...

Didn't spot the clamps at first, great idea. How is the dinghy progressing?

Re: timing of a silver (ws & wspc)

Been slowly catching up looking at old posts, have been playing with 2, 3 and 4 wheeled toys and giving the gulls a rest. We did a 2,000km trip five years ago I had set up four Century motors the same or I should say I thought they were the same. One was used for parts within the first few days, Two...

Re: Steel 'Johnson-style' tank

That would be an ideal size for some of the runs that we do, often have to top up during a run. Have thought about setting up a 5L remote tank.

Re: 8-10ft GRP clinker style??

You will have a lot of fun with a small dinghy some of the old GRP dinghies are heavy, have been thinking about another 10 footer for myself the old girl I have is very heavy I struggle to get it on a trailer. There are many styles around something similar to Stephens that was at the 2016 Nationals ...
