Re: Carb for FVP

OMG NO,

I prefer a plastic dinghy with a 4 stroke Yamaha.

I don't drink and sing old sailor songs (I sing only when I'm drunk).

I'm also hate the Amsterdam Red Light District and the Old Sailor Pub.

I'm also a member of Green Peace so no smoke and oil spills.

Re: Carb for FVP

Hi Evert,

Stelios is right.

You can't use only the upper crankcase on your FVP.

The parts are surplus of my F, FV and FVP projects so you can have them if you want.

Re: Carb for FVP

Hi Evert, I've found a FVP crankcase with s/n 5428 in the shed. Finding the brass tube in Holland will be difficult so I've got a brass 102 tiller arm we can cut on the right length. I had a look for a Little Forty Villiers carb but couldn't find one. P3120198.JPG P3120197.JPG P3120199.JPG Jan

Re: SD/SDP gearbox end cap and Brass Tiller Arm needed

I've all the parts if you still need them.

Must check the condition of the SD end cap when I'm in the shed.

Re: 102 Direct Drive Gear Box to Clutch convert

Hi Jon & Charles, I already convert the direct drive gearbox into an clutch model. You need a (longer) clutch drive propshaft, clutch dog with pin, spring, clutch fork, bronze wedge and the big washer for the fork. Luckily the crown wheel in the direct drive gearbox had the teeth for the clutch ...

Re: D9666 restoration

So far, all of this resto job has been based on the pictures that JAN has uploaded.(thanx again JAN) At the end of the day, its an old seagull with an unusual history that was probably only made for 2 years at most, unless someone has anything else they'd like to add that may be usefull. The pictur...

Re: D9666 restoration

There are no washers between the collar and gearhousing/bushing on a direct drive gearbox. Adjusting the backlash of the gears is done by adding shims inside the gearbox between the steel thrust washer and crownwheel. The (serial) number on the gear housing and end cap is to keep the 2 parts togethe...

Re: D9666 restoration

Sorry Charles but I don't agree about the core plugs.

All my pre 1950 102 engines have the hexagonal core plugs and my early 1950's 102 engines have the slotted core plugs.

The early pre 1950 102 model brochures shows also the hexagon plugs.

Re: Interesting collection

This was a very nice and also the first antique outboard show in Holland.

Unfortunately not many visitors during the 3 days show.

Next time it's better to organize this during a classic car/motorcycle event, stationary engine show and/or steam rally.

102 Direct Drive Gear Box to Clutch convert

Is it possible to convert a Direct Drive gear box into a Clutch Drive model? I've got all the Clutch model parts like the longer prop shaft, bronze wedge, washers, springs, clutch fork etc. Regarding the spare parts list there are Clutch and Direct Drive gearbox housings. Are they machined different...

Re: Coil number for SJP/SJM?

Hi Phil,

You need the M1634 coil for the Mk I (Villiers) ignition.

The M1361 coil is 10mm shorter.

I think it's an Evinrude model 8008 50hp Storm Boat Motor from WWII.

Much too heavy for me.

Re: sEEgull conversion questions

Hi Charan,

I've found the missing parts for the gearbox, you need the steel thrust washer and some shims to adjust the end play of the prop shaft.

Maybe I can help you with a new paper gasket for the gear box.

I also found the transom bracket parts for your project.

Cheers, Jan
