Re: Sea bee minor
Hi Keith, Would the Seachief's have been painted a similar color? I had to source another cowling and recoil starter from New Zealand, and the color on that cowling was a turqouise color. Any ideas?? . . . jonmac

Re: Sea bee minor
Hi robhc1000, It looks very similar to the Seachief, made in Whitstable, Kent early 1960's? It's probably because of the J.A. Preswich engine and tear-drop cowling that makes them look similar. Just looking at your photo's the only significant differences seem to be the exhaust and the leg. . . . jo...

Re: Finding Workshop Again #2
I'm still a little sad that Freo didn't win the grand final. Hopefully we can get a crack at it next year. I would dearly love to have space you seem very eager to fill with your wonderful collection. . . jonmac

Would that size prop be a genuine Seagull component? It seems completely "over the top" to be on an engine of that size. . . . jonmac

Hi Guys, A real credit to everyone that has been involved in the building of these boats. They look absolutely great. I hope that the trip down the Murray is full of adventure and no mechanical problems. . . .jonmac

Re: Amal Carb
Hi Bruce, Thanks for your reply in regards that its a CycleMotor/Trojan carb. Just in regards about lost bits, there wasn't any other bits other than I photographed. Closer inspection of the float cover reveals that the bent brass rod had been crimped just below the cover lid. Possibly if the carby ...

Re: Amal Carb
Hello Keith, Yes that sounds reasonable. Thank you for your answer. Is the copper rod running through the top of the cover plate where the tickler should be? By the way will the carby still function without a tickler?

John

Amal Carb
Would anyone be able to identify which model Amal carby this is. I have been unsuccessful in searching the net and Amal Ltd for anything on this carby. Whilst I was stripping it down for cleaning, a spring and a brass cover or cap for the spring fell onto the bench when I turned the carby upside dow...

MAC 3hp
Hi Everyone, I subscribe to a few outboard motor / boat forums and have yet to have a definitive answer in regards to an Aspera MAC 3hp air cooled outboard engine. As an owner of a few Seagull motors, I thought this forum to have a comprehensive group of members and that someone may have a little mo...

which Oil
I'm slowly collecting a few seagull outboards here in Oz. I now have 3. In regards to mixing the oil with petrol, what is the preferred grade of oil? All the stuff I have read points to 10:1 ratio with SAE 30w. Would using SAE 10w create any problems. I only ask this as I have unlimited supplies of ...
