Re: Winter projects

Hi Oyster, Your 1966 Triumph Speed Twin is a very nice bike and project. Many years ago I owned a 1966 Norton Dominator 650SS cafe racer. I've got good but mostly bad memories of the Dominator. But it was very fast and exciting to ride. My Winter projects are finishing the Anzani Minor project (than...

Re: Data on Early Forty Series

Here some pictures from a New Old Stock Little Forty tank.

The tank came from a former Britisch Seagull dealer stock in the Netherlands.

Re: British Anzani Minor information and parts wanted

Hi Rick, Many thanks for the parts offer, I will send you a PM. I've found the rubber washer with tag behind the waterpump cover and it's in very good condition. My Anzani Minor don't have JAP cast on the crankcase, only a M16XX serial number. The power head looks and feels good so I don't want to t...

Re: British Anzani Minor information and parts wanted

Hi Rick, Thank you for the information. I just removed the stop button and wiring from the Minor. On the carb I found the choke lever but no tube and choke cable/wire under the cowling. PA080151.JPG There is a cam visible on the propshaft inside the gearbox housing just behind the prop. I think ther...

Re: British Anzani Minor information and parts wanted

Hi David,

Thank you for the offer.

Hopefully I get some response from the forum.

My mooring is in Krommenie and very close to 't Swaentje'.

British Anzani Minor information and parts wanted

During my UK trip last month I acquired a British Anzani Minor (MkII) from a SOS forum member. This model was on my wish list for a long time and I’m very pleased with the Minor. It has the shape of a wooden clog and as you know we all wear wooden clogs and live in a windmill in Holland (except me)....

Re: Let the journey begin!

Hi Charles,

Just click on Stellios picture and you will see the strange cylinder will be an ordinary (W)M20 cylinder motor cycle.

Cheers, Jan

Re: Let the journey begin!

Hi Stellios,

This is a BSA WM20 500cc side valve motor cycle build for the War Department during world war II.

I restored one a few years ago and I stored it between the Seagull's in the shed.

Re: Little Forty F341

Charles, I think we solved a mystery. I was always wondering why they named the 64cc models Little 40 and 40 Minus. After I measured the bore and stroke of F341 I understand the 40 models started as 40cc outboards. Because of the corrosion I bead blasted the aluminium parts. I used some wire wool an...

Re: Little Forty F341

Charles, The stroke is +/- 36mm so the capacity is 40cc.

Thanks Evert, you are welcome.

Re: Little Forty F341

It took me a few hours to dismantle the powerhead because every bolt and also the piston was seized. The cylinder, piston and crankshaft is in good condition but the crankcase cylinder base flange and head is badly corroded. The F model crankcase, cylinder, head and piston is smaller comparing with ...

I think the original throttle lever is replaced by this later Villiers style lever.

Little Forty F341

Yesterday I came home from a short UK trip. We visit Portsmouth, the Beaulieu autojumble in New Forest, the Duxford Air Show and I picked up an Anzani Minor that Keith.P collected for me. Thanks Oyster 49 and Keith.P. for the effort to get me a British Anzani Minor in my collection. I visit the Beau...

Re: Not Seagull but I think worth a read.

This article about the surplus Catalina flying boats is very interesting. Last month I had a flight and 2 touchdowns on the water in a 1941 Catalina. During WW2 this Catalina was based on Iceland and sunk 3 German U-boats! Landing on the water with an aircraft is very strange and noisy. The view fro...

Re: Found an odd one today..

Very nice little forty.

Looks complete and original.

I've LS27489L in my collection.

The tiller extension is also an original accessory and has 'British Seagull' stamped on the Bakelite ball end.
