All the SD's I've seen in Holland have the 'Coolie Hat' ignition. But all the ex MoD ignition parts I have are Villiers MkI parts (flywheels, rope pulleys, 'for the world' covers etc.). Also don't forget the endless discussions about the right time period parts.

Without the forum I never found a Marston for my outboard collection.

Hi Charles,

First measure the voltage on the wiring, if 12V is present measure the current flowing to the heated rear window.
I think (I'm not a car mechanic) there must be flowing 50 Amps or more to the heating wires on the window.
If there is a high current flowing there is heat dissipating.

Charles, I don't know but it looks all original with the old style pill box, magneto baseplate, small rope pulley, plain cover and dome nut.
