Whoops, yes you're right Charles, I got confused...
Still the "n" doesn't make sense in the serial # - maybe a mis-stamp, I'm not sure.
Does anyone else have a seagull with the letter "n" in the date code?

Hello Mike As others have said, you have a very nice motor! From the research I have conducted, I'd say that it would be a 1966. The serial coding with letters in the serial number came in to effect around 1960/61, before that there was just a numbered serial code (if that makes sense). For example,...

Well, at least the seller states, possibly ex-army... 'For the World' flywheel plate is 1953 onwards; it makes sense for the actual powerhead to be around that era... Castings on the block say anything to you Jon? Gearbox is correct to that motor, if you look closely you can see that someone has cut...
