Re: Pleasure & Pain
Head removal. (I've not watched this one myself, but going on the quality of his other videos there should be some good pointers on it.)

Re: Pleasure & Pain
As I'm sure you are aware, there can be a lot of shaking and vibration when the seagull is running and this can loosen the bits of crud and rust inside the water jacket and cause a blockage. You need the higher revs to keep the water flowing and when idling you will often find the water flow is poor...

Nice clip of the pontoon bridge building process, start the clip at 2.15 and also possible outboard on small boat at 3.07, (could it be a seagull?)

Possibly, maybe...
There is an outboard on the small boat in the foreground of the picture. If you click on the link here you can increase the size and zoom in. http://zoom.iwm.org.uk/view/38577?cat=photographs&oid=object-205195567 . It's probably too far away to work out what the outboard is, but it certainly &qu...

Re: Applying Heat To Stuck Fasteners
The seller had acquired the motor from his uncle who purchased it new and estimated between the two of them the motor has about15-20 hours on it. It has been idle for a while but appears well treated. I'd be surprised if there is much of a blockage if any in the water passages in such a low hours m...

Re: Which of the Bargepusher props did the HSD wear?
According to my source this advert was taken from yachting monthly 1955. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on "Now" as in "now in 1955 we have four bladed propellers." http://www.britishseagullparts.com/images/ads/YM-BS-May55.jpg http://www.britishseagullparts.com/images/ads/YM...

Re: Which of the Bargepusher props did the HSD wear?
Pat 777 I would put those ads a couple of years earlier than "late fifties". Thanks Charlesp, sorry about that, once again I'm relying on an outside source for my late fifties statement. This is taken from the website I found the poster on. http://www.britishseagullparts.com/ads.htm Late ...

Re: Which of the Bargepusher props did the HSD wear?
Just posting these "pictures" beside each other for easy comparison of "clocked" to the left versus "clocked" to the right. Something is definitely not right with this prop. I strongly believe this 3 bladed prop is a copy from something else that's been cleverly adapted...

Just posting this list of Seagull Outboard Gearbox Ratios, to show which models have the same ratio in case any newbies are reading this topic. Links to previous discussion of gearbox ratios. http://www.saving-old-seagulls.co.uk/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4776&p=38579 I'm not concerned with ...
