Re: what do you run yours in ?

I used to just fill the bin from the tap and add a bit of detergent, but now that we are still in a drought, I use the same garbage can filled with rainwater beside the shed. I contend that the 'residue' is good for the garden plants - my wife does not!

Re: Featherweight box to 102

You could just fit the 102 and exhaust to a 40 driveshaft and gearbox (just overlap the exhaust at the bottom) and the water delivery pipe will need to be straightened and shortened. You could fabricate a 102 to 40 exhaust pipe, and do as above. I have as you see got both .... even by swapping props...

Re: Essex Flocking of Seagulls!

....... However I did modify the exhaust injection... Instead of a simple 5 mm hole, I have now squeezed in a length of small bore copper pipe, 4" long, to keep the water away from the exhaust port, there were signs the water was trying to gert back into the cylinder...... pics on the site soon...

'...Please notice the "Hare" seems to be missing his prop!...'

I assumed it was removed for less drag when being towed.

Re: The West Coast Piner's Punt

You want to know how a Piners Punt would go with a Seagull? I can tell you how a shortened version goes, but contact the Wooden Boat Guild of Tasmania
http://www.woodenboatguildtas.org.au/index.php
I know some of the members have Seagulls, Peter Higgs is your man.

Re: The origin of the name 40+

...... tighten up the steering so it doesn't move freely and that gets rid of a lot of vibration....

I do that with all my Seagulls, doesn't stop the vibration from a worn hinge pin.

Re: Trim Tab designs

... "Robs boat looks a bit short" Well, you see, I was impressed by the towability and load carrying of the Tasmanian Piners Punts, but I only had 2 sheets of 8' x 4' x 4mm plywood - Green Pea is the largest clinker, rowing/sailing/Seagulling boat I could make on the lines of the Piners Pu...

Re: The origin of the name 40+

Both my 40+'s have very worn holes for the retaining bar. Has anyone drilled it out for a larger pin? What about fitting rubber/nylon sleeve on the clamping frames to help cut down vibration ?
