Re: Another Mallard
Wow, the pics and description in the advert certainly did not do this any justice whatsoever. I am pleased you've been able to add this to your collection mate and that I've been able to play a small part in its rescue. As you've quite rightly said, just a quick tidy up and leave all else ...

Wanted: Anzani Pilot Parts
Hello all, I am currently restoring an Anzani Pilot http://www.saving-old-seagulls.co.uk/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4791 and have hit a bit of a road block. The con rod has excessive wear at the big end, and the crank has some scaring to the journal also. I am therefore now in need of a replace...

Re: Early Seaspirte Inspiration for CI
G'day CI, further to my email I thought some additional clarification here might be useful. In case of Seasprite decals, SIZE does matter lol. Earlier 'Silver' finished Seasprite. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z14/HH565L/Seasprite/IMG_1635_zps3431bf0b.jpg More recent 'Green' finished Seasprite....

Re: Early Seaspirte Inspiration for CI
You're welcome CI. Spoke to the owner tonight and discovered the earlier one has a different water pump yet again. There was a spare tank sitting with new decals also which I didn't photograph, but am able to get a hold off to take to a graphic artist if need be. What you need to watch out for howev...

Early Seaspirte Inspiration for CI
I know how much CI loves these things so I when I stumbled across this thing is a local workshop I couldn't resist the opportunity to take some pics and post them here. It's complete and fully operational and comprises some very nice features including external water pump and clutch driven prop. htt...

Re: Look At This and Read Well
It's called 'common' courtesy. Unfortunately not that 'common' today!
You guys know these things better than I so this might sound a little stupid, but to me that prop guard looks like it come from a domestic fan.
If someone could enlighten me on that, it would be appreciated.

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Thanks for the kind words. A little bit more today. None of the parts shown are finished. Need to buy some smaller polishing pads for those hard to get at areas. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z14/HH565L/Anzani/IMG_1600_zps0b4aec51.jpg Lack of the right tools makes this kind of work very time co...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Having a hard time getting the aluminium parts up to the standard I was hoping for. The castings were terrible and the aluminium itself very porous. Sand to get rid of pitting, just to find more  Also as I have never polished aluminium (or any other metal before) before, I'm learning heaps alon...

Another Australian Seasprite Rescued
After some discussion in Ci's thread 'Latest Old Dear', and all the great support and advice he provided, I made the journey back today to rescue my very first Australian Seasprite outboard. My aim with this one is to return to as new condition, after fixing some of the 'Oh Dear' issues created by t...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Thanks for that CI. Mate, I think I watched just about every vid relating to Anzani Pilots before registering here. I used the vid you referring to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRuMQd5Xb60 as a bit of an educational tool before commencing the tear down of mine. Great job by the way. The silver pai...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Sadly all of the Pilot info have just the Zenith Carbs mentioned. I have looked for Amal for years in printed form. Even the later ones that I have all have an Amal........................go figure that then? What do you wish to know about an Amal? They are very straight forward but ask if you want...

Re: Latest Old Dear
Your very welcome. Please remember that they were never polished or blinged up for a restore. Best left clean and serviced showing all of the history intact. Sorry, just my thoughts as to future value and originality. Best of luck and let us know how you go aye? B I tend to agree with your comments...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Thanks for that Keith. I think I'll stay with the wing style decal as it's the original for my motor. If you take a look at the very first pics I posted in this thread, you can just make it out. The manual that is downloadable from the net appears to be for the Mark IV Pilot which is more recent tha...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
The earlier ones had the single clamp, the tank cap moved around on the tank the latest was steal , two different type carbs and and had about three different style decals. I've seen the two different carbs and the three different style of decals but as information on these seems to be limited I ha...
