Re: Bermuda RISR 18th June 2011

With two adults it'll do a little over 11 knots and just shy of 6000rpm. Hull is 15'11". It's not the fastest Century combo either...

Re: Struth!

Hugz, Do you have any more pictures like that? I've seen that same 170 with a scooter pipe on SeagullParts.co.uk Here is the 5r on a hull: http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/doppler491/niceseagull.jpg And here is another similar setup: http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/doppler491/IMG_15...

Re: New Youtube Video - Bermuda RISR

I would hazard a guess that 1/4" ply in 4'x8' sheets is most commonly used on our hulls. 1/2" thick ply might sometimes be used for the transom, etc. And if I recall correctly, the white hull with #13 painted onto it used a total of 3 sheets of 4'x8'. Don't quote me on this though.

Re: New Youtube Video - Bermuda RISR

All hulls use straight pieces of ply in their construction. Although most have more square-type transoms (probably due to ease of build), I'm inclined to say that the more diamond-shaped transoms are faster - but that might also be due to the engines that are on them! I'll post some pics of the diff...

So were there two types of AMAL 420 carbs? One for fuel pump and another for regular, gravity fed, engines? If so, was the Kingisher the only Seagull model that had the regular (non pumped) 420 carb on her? Help is much appreciated...

Cylinder interchangeability?

Was just looking for a quick answer to the following question(s)... a) Are all 102cc cylinders interchangeable? - more specifically will all 102cc cylinders fit onto a Century Plus casing b) Granted these engines are hardly meant for racing, what cylinders lend themselves to quicker top speeds when ...

Amal Carb Question

I can't seem to find the page I was looking for so I figured it was worth asking the experts here on SOS. Did British Seagull ever use the Amal 420 carburetor? Also, I have recently picked up a 416 carb and wanted to see if it had the 25:1 conversion...how can I tell if this is the case? Thanks for ...

Charles, you wouldn't happen to know the size of the crankshaft taper for the larger 102cc engines would you?

Thanks Charles, you really know your stuff! I have a lower unit that is un-useable at the moment and wanted to see if I could somehow use the parts from it in my currently working one if need be. I figured it would save me some money and was hoping the lower unit parts would be as interchangeable as...
