Re: Boxed SD

A thought. The rest of motor is wrapped or greased yet the tank is not. Was the tank removed, painted and decalled to be sold as ex war stock? It has been discussed that it was unlikely that in the austerity of the war years they would put decals on them yet were any other seagulls have directions o...

Re: Boxed SD

The fear is that a museum would just store it. And who would finance it? It is a later one so I'm not surprised re shroud air intake. I would think many of the trumpets got squashed so a more hardy one was developed. Tanks and decals are always a mystery.

Re: Shame on me!

Yes I've heard of the keel problem. Some good epoxies out there now so might look at putting a brass strip on. There is a wheel as well. I'm thinking a windsurfing sailing ring might work as a sail on it.

AF? I do have a little fvp l can put on it. A Walker Bay 8 correct.

Shame on me!

I bought a plastic boat. Plastic!

Funnily enough the previous owner had a seagull on it!

Re: Rusty spark plug removal

Creamy sludge is probably correct. The oil is designed to emulsify with ingressed water. I describe it the colour as baileys irish cream. What is this allen key trick?

Boxed SD

In 2017 an SD surfaced in its original wrapping within the crate including the side mount. I have reliable information that is about to come back onto ebay. Be nice if it went to a member of the SOS family. Quite frankly it should be in a museum. Can you keep an eye on GB ebay please as l'm in Sydne...

Re: SD12802J

General consensus was there were about 10'000 manufactured though the #'s go up to the 12k's. There are a few blocks missing ie in the 6 and 7000's. In time l believe these will balance out and appear. I agree with Eddie that it was probably an SD with a later replacement crankcase and barrel. The f...
