They only made 160 of these engines.

Have been sent the parts book.

I wonder how possible it would be to use seagull cylinders on this engine. One could really get some of the purists scratching there heads. A couple of silver century cylinders should do it. Maybe a nine hp. Could be an interesting challenge.

The Century twin is looking far more possible. Cut and shut a couple of cranks and crankcases.

Exhausts could be a challenge, and the offset in the conrods.

Having looked at American sites I am turning to the bling side.

Post a picture of the conrod so I can see how they get the offset.

Why did I buy that engine, let me think for a couple of seconds.

Because there are only 3 others known to exist.

And this one has the best preserved decal in the world that is known about.

£40 and just down the road, the scrap value of the bronze is about £20.

When the pound gets a little stronger I will get a couple of cylinders from the states, they are not rare as they were used on other models.

I will not put that one down as a foolish purchase.

Hi H-A,

I can help you with the tiller side cylinder (the other side cylinder was cracked).

Do you need any other 1934 OB-70 Johnson parts?

Hi Jan

I think all I need at the moment is a prop and a pair of cylinders.

I need to get the pistons out to see if they are ok.

This will be a winter project, summer is for building race boats :D

Next time I see you perhaps we could see if that cylinder you have is the same as mine.

The guy says the cylinders are ok.

Fingers crossed.

Will be able to make one out of two with some luck.

Out bid again.
He says he couldn't test for spark, but the HT wire are on the plugs?
My 1937 one has a good spark, but can't say the same about the cylinders.

Sorry Keith, he did say "haven't checked for a spark", will know more when I pick it up.

Do you need any bits? as I am thinking at the moment all I need is cylinders and prop.

My one is not the exactly the same as yours, it's a Johnson 210. It's complete as such, but one cylinder waterway has blown out and it has the wrong carb.
I maybe be able to do some kind of fix, but it's pretty bad, or it may stay in the box with the Elto ace twin until something else pops up.
Do you know what HP your one is?
