British Anzani Minor

Post by stmartinsdiver »

I see lots of interest and discussions around Anzani Pilots and Super Singles but rarely see anything about the much rarer and more interesting Anzani Minor.
Evan a Seagull Forty Featherweight is quite a monster compared to one of these tiny engines both in terms of weight and power - the Anzani pushing out a massive half of one horse power through its huge two bladed propellor!

An impending house move necessitates a reduction in my collection of marine bits and pieces so I'm afraid the Minor has to go, so if anyone out there wants to fill a gap in their collection this may just fit the bill.

The motor has excellent compression and starts and runs well. It has been stored for most of its life. I never did determine the year of manufacture (Engine no. M3615) but I've had it since the mid 1970's when I acquired it in a box containing half a dozen small outboards some of which someone had taken completely apart and failed to put back together.

This was the only one that had escaped being dismantled so is pretty much in original condition.
I'm open to sensible offers but would like to see it move on to another good home.

Did your strimmer break down? You needed an urgent replacement as the hedge was oversize

Nice to see even the most ardent collector cannot resist. 8)

Is that one controlled by the timing like the mallard?

Not 100% complete though.

They are cool aye?

Getting new heads cast was a mission . Sold ten that I had made. Took five years to do that. All gone now sorry.

There are a few runners left in the world obviously.

I can have more made if enough interest.

I might get a vid of one of mine running this summer. (BarMix anyone?)

I have seen very little of these being sold since 2007 2009.

Complete ones went for some really serious money back then. Made eyes water.

Cheers

I've always wanted one of these but the one on ebay is missing a carburettor and engine cowl. I imagine that spares are not exactly plentiful, particularly the cowl.

Spares?

You would be correct, especially any of the two hats................

You get one incomplete, then you get it to run gathering substandard parts, then you want original to finish off.

Hard yards and then not a perfect runner..............been there done that.

These are like silly motors, someone gets one and some get "The Bug" to go all the way.

Unique aye.

If someone is determined and waits a while with every request "Out There" 24/7 eventually someone has something of worth to be proud of.

I went into my shed #3, moved a lot of motors out of the way to take these pics of 1 x complete and runners not complete....use your eyes as pic taken at arms reach....... Buried away to the right are the spare parts donors.
