A couple of old sea bees

Hi there,
I've acquired 2 old JAP powered Sea Bee outboards. 1 of them is a small minor I think and the other is the slightly larger big brother.
I'll post a picture of both when I get a chance but there are a couple of issues with both.
The minor is very difficult to start, we have fitted a new spark plug and put an injector cleaner through it and it is getting better. I suspect the points needs cleaning up, any tips on doing this?
The big starts nearly first time every time but the prop doesn't run, the shaft does turn though. I was expecting some sort of key way or grub screw holding the prop on but it looks like it's just a push fit? I'm guessing the body needs packing out with grease to help keep the prop on the shaft.
If anyone has any info regarding these engines or any tips I'd be most grateful. Thanks.

Depending on what they are, as not all Seebee's are Seebee's, the larger one I may have a gearbox for, defending on you location and the motor.
The points inspection hatch is small, probably that's your best option to clean the points though, as the flywheel has no key way, so only remove the flywheel if you know enough to reset the timing manually.

I'm not sure the gearbox is the issue as the shaft does seem to be turning, there looks to be a lot of play between the prop and shaft:



If I move the prop up to the nut then it engages and spins, in the position shown in the picture, the shaft will spin but not the prop.
Now if you have a spare recoil unit I might be interested, the cord keeps getting pulled off of one of our units, the other has been fine so far.

Early version, later one has plastic thumb screws and prop nut, plus it has a stamp on the side of the exhaust.
I have the same model, just never used it on the water.

Are yes, I noticed that hole when I took the prop off. I thought there would be a pin going through the prop itself but there is nowhere for it to go.
Do you have any pictures of the shear pin in place?

I cannot get to a seabee at the moment, too far it the back of the shed, clean up the back of the prop and you will see a slot for the pin, I don't think its all that deep, find a suitable pin and you should off.
