Hello everyone,
I'm new to outboards, and this forum, all because of this wonderfully informative website. I'm interested in all things mechanical and engineering in general. Anyway I bought this outboard initially thinking it was a sea bee, but the leg is different and it has a water cooled cylinder jacket. I've browsed the forum and now think it may be an auto products? Frustratingly the few photographs I've found are not viewable so I'll post pics of this engine today. Any information greatly appreciated, gearbox lube, fuel oil mix ratio etc. Thanks.

What you have there is a bit of this and a bit of that..............
The lower unit has no water pump and is Sea Bee.
The cases and flywheel indicates air cooled......probably JAP.
The barrel and head? Have no Idea.
Casting marks?

Hi thanks for the reply the lower unit has a pump, and the crank cases are definitely jap see pics below. There are no marks on the cylinder however it runs well and pumps water from a hole in the cylinder jacket I made sure it was a runner before stripping and painting. Thanks steve.

There are several references to Water-cooled Sea Bee's on the net but no pics matching what you have there unfortunately.
It may be something ex-factory or a bitsa assembled by its previous owner. Either way, it's an interesting outboard and a cool addition to any collection.
I wish you luck with obtaining more info. I for one would be interested to know more about this little ob.

S
