Hello,
I'm a new Seagull owner, with a pair of 40+ engines (1955 and 1963). After various technical hiccups I've now got both running smoothly and took one out onto the Thames in my 13' dinghy for a decent trip at the weekend.
After something like 2 hours at half throttle it seemed like I'd used about half a tankful of fuel - which seemed reasonable to me.
But I'm curious what is considered typical fuel consumption for Seagulls or this size. How long do other people expect a talk of fuel to last when running under reasonable load?

From a British Seagull advert:
Typical fuel consumption per hour at half to three quarter throttle:
Featherweight - & Forty Plus 1.7 pints per hour (0.96 litres per hour)
Century - 2.60 pints per hour (1.47litres per hour)
Century Plus - 3.00 pints per hour ( 1.70litres per hour)
Like all manufacturer's claims you'd probably be lucky to achieve this, and as with all motors running at full throttle you'd achieve rather less.
My Century seems very frugal, but my favourite 40 plus (1959) is a bit thirsty.
