Thanks for the offer Oyster but I prefer the standard FV type gearbox on F341.

One day I will find one or I buy a parts motor.

I know it will be a long term restoration.

Its great to see F341 coming back to life.

My F201, which is complete and going so I have chickened out of taking it apart, does not appear to have a steel crankcase gasket. The gasket appears to be made of some white composition. I have no idea of course whether it left the factory in that state.
As you would expect it has a bronze rotor around the thinner section drive shaft.
The gearbox, as you know, is a standard FV one. Although F201's prop is slightly smaller in area (than FVs) and runs directly on the propshaft ie there is no bronze bush.

Hi Jeremy,

F341 had an original paper cylinder base gasket but the head gasket was a non original thick and sticky mess of kit, sealant, asbestos and paper.
I must find some material I can use as head gasket.

They fitted the later plastic and larger model 40 impeller so I need also the small bronze impeller.

Luckily the F prop is in good shape and already polished.

Your right, it doesn't have the bronze bushing and the F prop is smaller comparing the FV prop.

I never noticed the difference.
