British Seagull Outboards (YouTube Clips)

Here is a YouTube clip to get the thread started, also with some underwater shots showing the prop rotating, quite interesting to see the propulsion caused by the propeller spinning. I've noticed a number of SOS forum members are posting YouTube clips of their British Seagull outboards running. I don't think you will get a more interested and captive audience than here in this thread.

If you are not familiar with how to use the new YouTube tab button when posting, here is an explanation. So Cick for posting a new topic and there is a tab above where you're typing your post, that says YouTube. This is what should appear when you click on it. . Then you copy and paste the clip you want to show in between the two sets of brackets and then submit. So if you have any interesting YouTube Clips showing your seagulls in action or even captive in a barrel of water, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy viewing them.

Cheers Pat

I have to agree, perfect for passing time on a Sunday morning when on child minding duties and the other choice for watching is Cbeebies (childrens television). Oh no it's actually the afternoon now, I better go and do some work, thanks for posting skyetoyman,a nice spot you have there for a bit of boating.

Well just time for one more, this clip has been linked to before in a previous thread by the owner of said outboard. Nice to see a bit of innovation, maybe not one for the purists (avert your eyes now!).

Here is the thread discussing the electric start seagull. Thanks to PAULT50.

And here is the clip

Keith.P First of all thanks for posting. It is important when copying in the link that you copy the whole address bar , so you have http://www.youtube.com/watch? and then your unique link code for your particular clip in your case VI23xaoE_RY

This is what should be written in between http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI23xaoE_RY . It's also important that you do not have any additional spaces after the brackets, otherwise it won't work also.

Thanks also to Stelios_Rjk for posting, that will keep me busy for a while looking through all of those clips.

Cheers Pat

The problem is the letter "s"

Links starting with "https..." won't work. Links starting with "http..." works. Just remove this d**n "s". I was trying for 15min to find what's going on.

i love your brass flywheel on the fvp.
did that come from a stationary engine or lawn mower by any chance?
i was thinking of doing something similar on a 102. all brass and copper, just like chilli's steampunked job.

If I remember correctly, it was off a little Ransomes mower that was seized solid, but I had to remove and replace the centre with a seagull one, as the old type brass flywheels don't have a key way.
