Nice Job Keith!

Interesting that it came out in a 1948 publication and has the slogan "The Best Outboard Motor in the World" which wasn't put on the the motors until early fifties.

Might add this here.

Interesting that their workshop was at Careening Cove, Sydney Harbour near Kirribilli House where the prime minister is suppose to live (the current one lives in his own harbourfront mansion). There used to be a lot of slipways and marine workshops around there but now it has upmarket clubs and theatres etc. There is still one slipway there though. Next time I'm there I'll have a nosy around. http://www.shsmarine.com.au/about/

Just found this on the main SOS Website:

Australia went decimal in 1966 so we can assume this is '66 or earlier. How does that price reflect to sterling for a seagull of the day?

In my quest for old seagull adverts I found this. Not Seagull but it appealed to me and some of them would have had a gull on the back.

Can I ask Aussies to keep an eye out for the name and publisher of old Australian Boating Magazines say 1930's to '60's? I'm drawing a blank so far.

I rang Mr Murdoch but his phone always seems engaged.

This is purported to be a 1937 advert.
