Made up a base gasket today, I managed to find the correct gasket paper and judging by the label on the packet it came in, it's not much younger than the motor, so a good period gasket.
The original piston is really beyond use with quite a bit of corrosion but managed to uncover a really good SD piston which looks ldenticle to the Marston one as well as some new stellite tipped gudgeon pins, so now all ready for some re assembly.

Over a year since we've heard anything about this one Rene.
I'd love to know how it looks now.
It might spur me on to do something with a couple of my "oldies".
