All looks fairly normal to me.
You can always try and make your own fuel filter for the tap.
BUT, if you've never done this before there are a few sellers that sell them. Easy enough to solder onto the fuel tap.
The fuel line will clean out easily with carb cleaner or run it under a warm (ish) tap for a few minutes till it's clear again.
Well done.
Another one survives

Re: I bought a Seagull..
Hi Jon, I've cleaned the fuel line, just needs a final soak/rinse with cleaner before reassembling it the next time I take it out. I'm considering the options regards the filter/tap. I fancy a filter in the fuel line, for ease of cleaning/replacing. Or I may get a replacement tap. I do like the gull to be 'as original' as possible, but we have moved on since the 70's. (Never mind the 30's.. ).
I tried to upload a video clip of yesterday, but I think I need to upload it to youtube or such first, as it's to big to do it direct.
