Cork Seal Replacement?
it seems viable to replace the cork seal in the Ewarts fuel tap with o-ring(s). Any thoughts anyone?

Re: Cork Seal Replacement?
There are several O Ring adaptions but I for one have found that while there are no drips...............leave it closed for a while and the wee things stick like glue.

One thing that came to my attention... the most commonly found o-ring material is nitrile. which reacts with petrol. The alternative is viton. I wonder if that may have been the issue?

Better off sticking with the original cork type material. Much more versatile stuff. Easy job to replace them with the right tools. Takes less than 5 mins.
Modern "o" rings can sometimes react to certain ingredients within the fuel itself. They swell up and sometimes split/perish given half the chance.
I should think similar things happening with later plastic fuel taps. Once the plunger seal is worn it's going to leak.
My thoughts for what it's worth
