102 AC

Post by AusOB_Collector »

Hi all,

Over the last few weeks I've been quite busy with exams and the like, but they're finished for now... another round in October.
Anyway, this motor came in needing a bit of work - AC 43676. It was purchased as a 10th birthday present for the owner in the 50s from 'Tropical Traders' here in West Australia.
The owner's father also made a tool roll, which has a NOS pink Lodge spark plug in it along with one of the Seagull combination spanners.

I cleaned the fuel tank, carburettor, gearbox etc. and fitted a correct clutch lever, working HT lead and a correct Ewarts tap and fuel pipe. I did order a plastic rotary style fuel tap as per the owner's instructions from John at SOS but I couldn't get the motor to run with it fitted and the sharp angles of the fuel pipe; upon fitting the Ewarts tap and correct pipe, she started first pull.

I made a short video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9P-BwWZzTc&t=2s

Cheers
BP
