Hi Tam,
Not another one!
Its good to know that these old Seagulls are being repaired/refurbished and look like they would have in the 1950s.
Is that how it arrived or have you stripped it down? Have you the tubes etc for this one?
All the best,
Jeremy

It shouldn't be difficult to find a chrome on brass exhaust tube. The LS and early SJP used them, but whether they have just the one small hole in the tube I am not certain.
I guess that finding a drive shaft tube threaded at the bottom to screw into the pump housing will be more difficult - but you certainly seem to find plenty of good Seagulls and parts! The clamp bolt pump housing doesn't appear to have ever been used on the FVP as it was introduced at about serial number 24000, which was way after the LS superseded the FVP.
I would be grateful if you would give me details of the carb ie 7/16? bore, throttle stop?, hole in top of bowl?, hole in choke shutter? Also the date on the flywheel. Thanks.

Re: Fvp 8369
Looks like carb is a bitsa and modified at some point hope you can get the information you require Jeremy but I'd tend to say it's not the true carb for this fvp
Flywheel numbers are
R63/A61/M-12-9
Somebody somewhere supplied this motor would be interesting if this could be sourced. .....

That flywheel would appear to be a much earlier one of December 1949.
It is difficult to be know about the carb. 18mm on your caliper shows that it will fit on the 3/4" stub on the block. But if it is not the right one for this FVP then the venture size is not relevant.
Good luck with it - I expect that you will gather the correct pieces together for it.
