A hugely interesting subject! I never imagined that plating could be done at home - a new game to play. But since nickel is more noble than cadmium would that not make it the better choice? To say nothing of availability of materials and achievable lustre...

All of my plating is done by a specialist, I do none of it myself, the finish is far nicer than many other processes I have seen? Roy
