Any thicker than 140 oil will do, with a new prop shaft bush, if it still leaks with the new bush (due to a worn prop shaft) try adding some none additive unsexy grease to it, just to thicken it a little.
(it has to be pourable at your water temperature)

Should have bought the bits from John as he'd be the same price as Sheridan, as he's their biggest distributor, but his P&P is often cheaper.

Your still going to have to find someone with a lathe to make you a drift to press the old bush out & the new in ( O.748" OD with a 0.499" end diameter reduction 1.25" long.

Pay careful attention to the direction that the bushes go in & out!

On 102 2.5:1 lower units.

Clutched box from the outside.
Fixed box from the inside.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I've only ever seen mild steel bolts holding the G clamps to the body.

Thanks Hugz. From the parts list, the bolts are part number 217. (I should have looked this up earlier) This is the same part number for the bolt that holds the heads. From the R marking on the head of this bolt, these must be high tensile steel. (Not sure why Seagull would specify high tensile for this application.) In any case, both my bolts must be replacements. I guess the steel one rust out fairly early on (after only thirty years or so).
