On a Brighter Side... Thank You Santa
Well I promised myself no more motors, in fact I Was thinking of selling a few but something turned up....
What can I say.... “early Christmas present for self”..... “Thank You Santa” .... or just “Good Grief”
The funny thing is that this is not the first time that I have bought this Motor but more about that later...
Here are some pics after getting it home

I’ll try and get her running tomorrow, it’s got a new coil on unfortunately a villiers one with the adaptors but the spark is great, good compression, oil in the gearbox, feels nice and free in there although normally I would remove, assess and maybe even strip the gear box as parts for these have to be made if it all goes wrong but this one feels particularly good.
I’ll try to do a video clip, always nice to see them running, We’ll see...

Where did that one come from, surely there cant be any left on Jersey?
Re: On a Brighter Side... Thank You Santa
The chap I bought this off I’d contacted about some Marston bits he had for sale, we got talking and he mentioned he had an OA, that was over a year ago then about a month ago I got an email telling me he was selling up and sent me a few photos, I had a bit of a shock as this motor had a history with me which I’ll love to explain just to highlight the pitfalls of buying on auction sites like eBay. About five years ago I bought this motor on eBay as a “buy it now” at a reasonable price, the vendor wanted a bank transfer as he said his PayPal didn’t work properly, transfer done and I never heard from him again. This is just the outline of this saga and when I’ve got time I’ll post a much greater detailed version and what happened next. But for now I’m really pleased to eventually get this motor and the chap I bought it off in the end seems genuine with no idea of the history of it.

Looks good Rene, perhaps we should do a Thames Marston run in 2020.
Re: On a Brighter Side... Thank You Santa
After seeing that YouTube clip of your rather speedy motor I fear I may need two motors on the back....
But in reality I would love to do something like that, I’ll be off the island for a chunk of next year, still keen though and it would be great to meet a few of you.
Anyone else keen?

I've played with several 102's, & Marston's have the same limitations as they have & are an almost identical design apart from a couple of dimensional differences.
I suggest you dig out a couple of early bridged port Seagull 102's, blueprint & test them to establish what they will do in their standard guise, then start modding. At least you'll find the positive & negatives on a low cost relative.

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

102's can go well, with a tweak.
