1971 BRITISH SEAGULL Silver Century Plus OUTBOARD CLUTCH LONG SHAFT MOTOR WSPCL

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1971-BRITIS ... 1438.l2649

I know some motors are quite valuable, and some sellers think things are more valuable than they are.
But you would definitely wanting a WSPCL at this price.
Its a bit out of my price range. You would be in Marsden territory at this price i would think.

Yes, perceived values can be skewed by sentiment as with all things!

I bought a WSPCL in much better, with factory tag, original condition for a few hundred $’s a couple years ago. Doubt it was ever started outside the factory and either way was in better condition than the one on eBay now. My seller understood the demand for and value of British motors in the US.

Having been to many swap meets and motor shows in the US I can tell you that the seagulls are always lying neglected somewhere on the ground in the back, while the domestic motors are up front on stands for sale/display. Made it a fun challenge to find the seagulls actually, there was always 1 lurking around somewhere and never more than $50-$100.
