Australia prop washers and split pins

Post by THCL500J8 »

Hi Wondering if any of the Australians on the list know any were in OZ that we can get prop washers and split pins.
Went to change the week prop spring on a mates LLS and found the old tin missing. So any ideas?

Has anyone used those steel spring clips with any success?

Thanks.

steel spring clips (we call em "R CLIPS" ) work great. tried and tested.
makes changing the drive spring much easier and quicker with minimal tools.

I was thinking about this recently and ended up getting some 1/2 " i.d. SS lock washers, the type that are split. My plan is to bend them a little so the ends match and weld them back together, they are just the right thickness, use them with SS cotter pins which are easy enough to get here.

When I purchased my LLS, it had an Sping Clip (R Clip) already fitted. Worked well for the previous owner i guess!

I use a stainless steel washer that is meant for 12 mm thread. Nothing special about it.
