I bet many a Seagull was used to catch herrings for Kippers. A couple of barge pushers on two dorys would be just the thing for hauling the nets.

I've done that several times via Sidney to Auckland, but that was in the old days when the baggage allowance was 69 kilos (inc 7 carry on) it's a bit more difficult when the cheap airlines only let you have 22 + 5 carry on.

I took a century to Auckland this Easter split between 2 of us on Singapore with 32 + 5 carry on, with spares & a tool kit.

Well I have been home alone for a week now, and was starting to getting board.
My big prop had arrived from Scotland, and i drunk the scotch to celebrate, I had picked up a old box of seagull parts from the northern suburbs and got some handbooks for the 50's 60's and 70's a few props a silver century plus 4:1 gearbox, some springs and a box of D16 plugs. And to top it off the clymer Seagull service manual. plus some rings and an impeller so was quite happy with my self.

And as i looked at the bowtie prop i had used as a size comparison and colected the broken prop from the workshop floor, i though for a moment i might JB weld the the blabe back on and send it to Hugz for his collection, he said he wanted one.
But the the power hacksaw in the corner called to me and the bench grinder next to it as well, and a beer or two later i had the 102plus bowtie special 13 inch prop. (Sorry Hugz) But i just wanted to see what one was like. I runs very well a lot more thrust than the 9 inch, but not the brutal power of the four blader.

See men should never be left alone to long.
