102 SD Skeletal bracket wanted
Hello
Does anyone have a 102 sd skeletal bracket for sale ? A fuel cap to go with it would be even better !
Regards
Dave

Hi Dave
What engine number/year are you wanting?

Hi B
I'm after a bracket AND a fuel cap but either would be good. The engine number is SDP8988. 1942 to 1945ish....
Cheers

Most of the motor looks a lot later then 1942-45, you would need a lot more than just a cap and transom, if you don't already have them.

2 in Jersey, could soon be time for the "round Jersey classic seagull race".JERSEYMAN wrote: Another enthusiast in Jersey maybe

It is about 45 miles, so in a Bermudan long boat doing about 10 mph, should take about 5 hours.
They swim round it so it should be possible, Jersey could be the new Bermuda

Yes Keith , your right there, A lot of the parts of this engine are later than the date stated. I Have changed most of the parts needed , but need a bracket , fuel cap , and a prop , and hey presto ..job done . Thanks for your commentsKeith.P wrote:Most of the motor looks a lot later then 1942-45, you would need a lot more than just a cap and transom, if you don't already have them.

With the off shore reefs we have around jersey coupled up wih the hugely high tides and currents . A jersey style seagull race would be great . It would take a few hours , but the sights stunning , with plenty of seagulls ..especially on the north coast .Horsley-Anarak wrote:2 in Jersey, could soon be time for the "round Jersey classic seagull race".JERSEYMAN wrote: Another enthusiast in Jersey maybe

Re: 102 SD Skeletal bracket wanted
The 5 mph minimum speed that we had for Hayling would be too low for the Jersey tides, might have to be 10 mph, that would rule out all but the very serious.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Re: 102 SD Skeletal bracket wanted
I have to agree with Oyster in that there is quite a bit that's been changed on this over the years.
Can you confirm the carb, air inlet, complete magneto, fuel pipe, tank, prop and transom mount (to mention a few) are the parts that you've changed so far?
I'd put it a bit later than 42 though!
Put up some better pics so we can see exactly what this is. (gives me a chance to get the data on it as well )
we like pics!
lots of pics...

Re: 102 SD Skeletal bracket wanted
Thanks Jon
I have a different trumpet carb intake for it , I'm trying to get a fuel cap and transom bracket "unsuccessfully " so far . The ignition system is an older style Villiers it seems ! fuel pipe I realise isn't the copper one that I have seen on some old 102's the number is SDP 8988 , and according to johns Identifier is 1942 to 45 ! I'm putting lots of money, time and effort into restoring this motor , and to be fair , the thing that costs nothing is advice ! So guys please by all means tell me what's not right with my motor , But please help guide me into getting it looking good and back where it belongs ! Hopefully it will be rebuilt in the next couple of weeks , so will post photo's and see what can be improved etc .

My SD is later, it's not perfect, but will give you some idea.

Re: 102 SD Skeletal bracket wanted
I'll get some pics up tomorrow evening of my SDP
Similar to Keiths SD but in "as found" condition and having had a few minor corrections taken place. (still might not be 100% correct but will show perhaps some differences)
Stay tuned
