Seems to be a problem finding the parts to start with I'll bear you in mind though :x :P

Tam just zoomed in on your picture, JM 1496, that really is a Marston ignition, about 1937 from an ON or an OP, with the correct points cover!

Sorry I doubted you, but I see "Marston ignition" so often on 1944-45 bits, the expression "Truthful Scotsman" just isn't easy to say!

Spot on china definitely an ON Marston searching shed for omhs meter now will test l8er only two type of true scotchman the ones that go to the big hoose and those who manage to jump the fence feck going back there. :lol: :lol:

my dear chap ....obviously a straight and honest Scotsman ..

My ON 1382, proper finned block and everything, is crying out for its proper Marston top ....previous owner bastardised it with a later villiers ignition

what do you want for it ££ or spares

just re-checked ..... engine in question is OP 371, made 1937

Yes Jon got your pms back in the uk now iv crossed international waters and done my stunt on lough derg (nuns get horny too) mybe you never got my reply s I'm needing to swap these parts rather than sell china..

Makes sense to convince a collector to part with some rare parts with the barter of other equally, or in this case, an even rarer part. Very canny of Tam. I've learnt something......

As i don't have any FVP parts with which to trade, carry on Neal.

I'll find an ignition from somewhere eventually. It doesn't matter...
