Oops... Wrist pin

Post by westcoaster »

The wist pin is a tube that is closed off at one end.

When I pulled the motor apart the closed side of the wrist pin was pointed to the exhaust port.
When I reassembled the open side was pointed to the exhaust port. (oops...)

Does it matter?

I always fit them closed end up, worried about them filling with oil & getting heavier, but don't recall anything regarding this in any of the Seagull paperwork.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

That was my logic in assembling with open end down as well...

Going back through the pictures from when I disassembled I noticed it was open end up.

Thought I would ask.

Thanks,
