Serial number SJP 449J3
In original crate with paperwork etc, never used, purportedly
Asking bid is 1500 USD
It does look in nice shape from pictures but usual ebay caveats and warnings should be heeded of course.
Whenever I buy something like this at this kind of money, I go in person and pay in cash and pick up merchandise and handle shipping myself. If a person wont do this, then I dont buy. Just before I go, I mention that my family is in law enforcement. That saved me from being scammed once.

There's an unused 40 plus on UK eBay at the moment - check out
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OUTBOARD-MOTOR-SE ... dZViewItem.
The guy is looking for £550.00 for it, no packing case included. It still has the corrugated cardboard wrapped round the tank.
There have been a few of these cropping up this year - one guy was offering another 40 plus at £999 for a while but I don't think it's gone yet.
The packing case is worth having. I had one a couple of years ago, it had to live outside because of evidence of woodworm. I tried to treat it but they must have been extra tough little pests so the crate became more and more perforated and then finally subsided in a heap. Shame.
They are rare because of the quite hefty deposit. You'd get the money back if you returned the case to the factory, so most did just that.
