I have just come accross this thread.
I bought the second motor, it is an FVP it is stamped EVR 1144 7 but is in fact FVP 1144 T, it must have been a very boozy Friday.
All the screws came out of the leg ok (did not open up the gearbox) and I have just got the power head apart. It had a broken fuel tank lug on on the head which I have built up with a TIG welder and am filling back to shape. There is a broken corner on the crankcase which leaks water. The steel gaskets only have a little corrosion but there is a bit of corrosion around the studs. The woodruff key was a bugger to remove but I got it out just an hour ago (does anyone know if it is the same size as the modern ones as I need to replace it). Just need to get the studs out and fill the gaps with new metal (using 5356 filler rods) and then machine the faces back flat. Sounds easy when you say it quickly.
Regards,
Dave
