It might be a bit short of breath if you use that carb.

Actually it is a Victa carb. Not correct yes and have to have a long long snorkel with a filter on the end attached to the inlet.

They must have a negative pressure at the inlet.

They will actually flow and meter up to 18Hp.

That said, not for a Gull in that far far too fiddly a thing on a transom.

Do not try that carb as when you think all is well.................it will flood in too much fuel at the drop of a hat at 4000rpm unless a long snork as above.

On further thought, it will flood in too much fuel at the drop of a hat at any time.........regardless of a Snork. Gull is a different animal and needs an Amal

Yeh". Just didn't remove the carb from the stub that's all. I pulled it of the shelfs and layed it on the ground for a pic. Didnt think it would work well. The cyl has a bit of green paint on it in places. Can anyone tell me why. I have noticed this on some 102 motors a bit

Pulled the barrel of tonight and have noticed there is no lockwire around the big-end screws. Did some motors come without the wire. Or do I need to soure some up from someplace

I have also spotted the tiller arm stub for the handle has a stripped thread. Is there a wing nut with a smaller diameter thread available so I recutthe end to a smaller thread maybe

Some form of "Lock Wire Always"

Make sure when you redo it take care as of rotation of fasteners.

Nice set of cases by the way. May well breath nicely aye.

Check bearing length before getting too carried away however.

Got some lockwire and a pair of special pliers to twist it. The wire guage is .041. Ive had a go at doing it, but I don't think its done correct. Can anyone help me out with this. Its a good thing I brought a pound of wire

I’d be happy with that. I have been looking for wire locking pliers at swap meets for years without
any luck, looking at your finish I may have to give the eBay ones a try.
